Thirst quencher

I went to Costco to buy Gatorade. I came home with a 46 inch flat panel television. And I forgot to get the Gatorade. The TV barely fit into my car. This is even worse than when I went to Target for toilet paper, and came home with a Nintendo64, sans toilet paper of course.

Holy dwarfism Batman! I justify this as a birthday gift to myself. I really should cancel my Costco membership, but I still need to get Gatorade.

Electrical manicure

I am so grokking over the purple wallpaper I found under the wall switch. I love this stuff.

I couldn't leave well enough alone with the timer project and decided to rewire the entire circuit and expand. There are switches and zones for Xmas lights and wiring for a future fountain. Manly wiring. And all the visible screwheads are oriented in the same direction.

Outlet for when I want to work on a laptop in the front courtyard. A manly outlet.

And timer and switch controlled outlets. I chipped a nail putting these in.

Baby not dead

Absolutely awesome lucite chandelier at the banquet hall for Hannah's Red Egg and Ginger party. Which is the traditional Chinese "Baby is not dead" Party.

Red eggs. And pickled vegatables (with ginger.) The significance of both are kind of lost now. And celebrating Baby Not Dead is kind of an anachronism these days. Still. Outdated traditions are cool when they involve gorging on massive quantities of food.

And even better with roast Babe. The pigs are not celebrating Red Egg and Ginger today.

Future pork lover.

I managed to crack open the egg, eat the insides, and put the shell back together. My talents were sadly unrecognized at this party.

Eating ass

The best thing about Hannah's house is that I find things like Drs. Foster & Smith Triple Strength Dis-Taste. Stops stool eating. Makes feces unpalatable. The picture on the label looks like a Preston puppy. But Preston doesn't eat poo. Preston does make that guilty look all the time though.

And Boudreaux's Butt Paste.

And I was simultaneously intrigued and appalled at the chocolate fountain we saw at the A.I.D.S. benefit art auction that Meridith and Bruce took me to. Nobody used the toothpicks or tongs provided. Yuck! And there were a lot of paintings of penises. And a vagina puppet.

And a peeing bear lithograph at the Thirsty Bear Restaurant.

Tree porn

Driving to Hannah's today. So bananas get recycled into banana bread. I don't ever seem to eat that many fresh bananas, more in banana bread form. Laziness I guess.

And some last minute mulching while the banana bread bakes.

Ta-Da!

The trees erupted with pollen overnight. Everything is covered in yellow dust. Which when you think about it, is really tree sperm. Ewww.

Preston likes riding in the car.

Davy likes Costco.

Manly poultry

Twelve years of CDR's, sorted, filed and backed up. To protect my data, I threw out the CD's with a week's worth of dog poop.

Die tree die! I like chainsaws. Manly chainsaws.

Manly New York Times No-Knead bread. It works. It really works.

Manly firewood.

Manly crispy skin roast chicken.

Down in the dumps

The debris pile grows rampant. I really need to get that dumpster.

I love Costco! I expect the easel will get as much use as my bicycle.

Delicious tang

Door hung and trimmed. Termite infested old door and frame now replaced with brand spankin new steel door. So when the rest of the shed falls apart from termites, I'll still have a steel door standing. I get bonus manly points for putting the lights on motion sensor so I don't have to hunt for a light switch in the dark.

Did you?

It's lime season. Hence, lime pie!

Animal magnetism

Finally did laundry. Stinky stinky laundry from a manly man. But now I have fresh pandas to wear.

And I replaced the dog door flap that wasn't sealing shut correctly. And adjusted the magnets so it doesn't slam when Preston uses it.

Ugh. Nothing like a 4 hardware store day. I searched everywhere and finally found a right handed outswing 30'' exterior metal door. AND I impressed an entire parking lot of manly burly men by fitting everything into my car, and shutting the hatch. I am the KING of manly men!

And replaced the stinking mechanical timer for the exterior lights. The old one made a clankety clankety noise that drove me nuts for 5 years. 5 whole years and I'm only now getting around to replacing it with silent digital technology. No moving parts. Ah... silence. And it has sunrise and daylight savings programmed into it. Gotta love technology. What this picture doesn't show is the 2 other timers I blew up trying to get this to work. I'm happy I didn't electrocute myself.

And a new fangled smoke detector that not only makes a lot of noise, but a sexy woman's voice tells you there's a fire. So utterly useless, but hey, if my house is going up in smoke, I'd rather have a sultry lady with a smokey voice tell me rather than a raspy voiced drill sargeant.

And putting in exterior outlets for future Xmas light duty.

Productive like Chinamen

Giant bird of paradise carcass gets thrown into the biggest compost pile ever! The compost obsession grows. You could compost an entire obese American tourist in there.

I saved the old cast iron sink. Mayhaps it gets turned into a bird bath, or a planter or something. Heavy though. But manly man Davy can handle it.

I'm so anal retentive. So so anal rententive.

I need to find some of those chrome women in repose doohickies to bolt onto the mud flaps.

This is Bicycle's new home. I will have to build some sort of shade structure so the paint doesn't fade from the sun.

Did you know that Home Depot sells Plasma TV's?

Magic carpet bag

Woo Hoo! Presents for the car. Mud flaps. And rubber floor mats. For easier cleaning when the car is desecrated.

Finally gutting the tool shed and starting over inside. 90 years of schmutz to clear out. I keep pulling out stuff and stuff and stuff. Like Mary Poppins pulling furniture out of her bag.

Even more stuff! I'm going to have to rent a dumpster to get rid of all this crud.

The most organized garden shed in all of California!

Everything has a place. And I finally mounted the blue metal shop cabinets I got for $25 each. What a bargain!

I found the gate to the spiral stairs! I was wondering where this was for 5 years now. Hidden behind a set of old shelves in the shed. A bit of suburban archaeology.

And I discovered leftovers from the house renovation. I have a hard hat now. Now I can officially be a burly manly man with a hard hat and my six pack abs and buns of steel.
